Tribulus Terrestris For ED | Is It Safe To Take?

Tribulus Terrestris has been used for centuries in India and China as an herbal medicine for treating erectile dysfunction and infertility.

It is one of the few herbs that provide a positive result in the realm of sexual function.

This herb becomes popular when Bulgarian researchers at the Chemical pharmaceutical Research Institute in Sofia, conducted scientific researchers on this herb in 1981.

The result showed that men who take Tribulus for even just five days experienced positive changes in testosterone level by a significant 30 percent or more.

It claims that it releases a pituitary gland hormone called luteinizing hormone (LH), a hormone which helps to produce more testosterone.

Thus Tribulus appear to cause a corresponding rise in testosterone levels in the body and help to naturally increase libido, energy, and muscles mass formation.

Dosage Recommendation Tribulus Terrestris For ED

To ensures safety, it is not recommended for prolonged use, it is advisable to take breaks of at least one week every two weeks.

The most common method of taking Tribulus is in the form of pills, capsules or tablet.

The effect of Tribulus Terrestris is usually noticeable after 3-4 days but more effective when combined with other aphrodisiac herbs such Ginseng or Tongkat Ali.

Preferably, a daily dose is recommended between 600-1200mg. Tribulus does not interfere with sleep when taken in the evening, unlike ginseng and maca.

However, it is not recommended to take at night after 8 pm as it may interfere with sleep. Ideally, the total dose should be divided into two across the day.

The ideal time interval between the first dose and second dose should be 4- 5 hours.

In terms of the libido and physical fitness, Tribulus Terrestris is much more effective when combined with an aphrodisiac plants such as Maca or Ginseng.

Tribulus Terrestris side effects

Tribulus Terrestris are possibly safe when taken as recommended. However, when taken for prolong of time and fail to take a break then you can expect to see some side effects such as-

  • You may feel warmer than usual.
  • You may feel restless and have trouble sleeping at night, this herb increases the energy level. So you should be doing some form of exercise each day to burn off extra energy.
  • You may feel the sensation of feeling your heart beating faster than normal if so, you need to reduce your dosage and you should be fine.

Warning:

Diabetes:  Need to take cautiously if you are diabetic, Tribulus might reduce your blood sugar to dangerously low level. So you need to consult your doctor before taking this herb.

Surgery:  It is quite possible and likely to reduce your blood sugar level. This might interfere with blood sugar control during and after surgery. Stop taking Tribulus at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery.

Prostate problem or prostate cancer:  By taking Tribulus, prostate conditions such as benign prostate hypertrophy or prostate cancer may become worse over time. Some studies suggest that Tribulus might increase prostate weight.

Final verdict

Men with low sex drive could benefit from using Tribulus Terrestris. This herb can also be recommended to help increase fertility. As long as you follow dosage instruction, you should not have a problem at all.
